Derick loves God, his wife Jodi, and his son Marcus Daniel – in that order. He is also the Leading Pastor of Baliwag Bible Christian Church since 2009. He and his wife are committed to build a family whose hope is in God alone. God has placed a burden in their hearts to see more families putting their hope in God through Jesus Christ.
Derick believes that God has called him to preach and teach his Word to bring transformation to many families. God wrote a Story that has the power to shape the stories of future generations.
“We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done…that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments (Psalm 78:4-7).
Jodi‘s childhood dream was to become a nun who lives in a nipa hut in a remote village where she teaches children songs and stories about God.
She fulfilled her dream when she became part of the Children’s Ministry Team of Baliwag Bible Christian Church as a preschool teacher. She has also worked in World Vision helping children in remote villages discover life in all its fullness.
But she did not become a nun. God had prepared something better for her. She ended up marrying Derick, a man of God, a loving husband and a good father to their son, Marcus Daniel.
Jodi’s ultimate dream is to see the day when “at the name of Jesus every knee (small knees and big knees) should bow… and every tongue (from baby-tongue to adult-tongue) confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Phil. 2:10-11).
